MBM’s Building Consultancy team (Kevin Creed, Senior Building Surveyor) was instructed to carry out a site audit of a former wool store (10,000 sq. mtr’s) of federation type construction with Romanesque detailing constructed in the late 19th century to identify cracking, corrosion, settlement and all above ground structural elements such as floor slabs, structural walls and columns.
The survey was to highlight general condition, description and general suitability, this included issues particularly on water ingress, rot, rainwater goods, roof covering and the structural integrity of the facade. MBM provided a detailed integrated report that stated the identification of prioritised expenditure and immediate rectifiable issues and/or major commercial impediments and a detailed cost plan for rectification works and the immediate and future maintenance works identified.
